Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front offers incense to commemorate heroic martyrs
On December 9, during his working program in Nghe An, comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery (Anh Son district).
The delegation included comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Minh Hieu - Standing Member of the National Assembly's Law Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Thai Thi An Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Vi Van Son - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Tran Nhat Minh - Full-time National Assembly Delegate; leaders of provincial departments and branches and leaders of Con Cuong and Anh Son districts.

At the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery, in a solemn atmosphere, with the morality of "drinking water, remembering its source", Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and the delegation offered flowers and incense at the Memorial House of Uncle Ho and the heroic martyrs, and the Monument of heroic martyrs.

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien and the delegation respectfully bowed to express their respect and infinite gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the noble sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the noble international revolutionary cause.

The Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery was established in 1976 with an area of 6.8 hectares. This is the largest cemetery that gathers the graves of martyrs who are Vietnamese officers, volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and died in Laos.

The cemetery is currently the resting place of 10,825 martyrs from 47 provinces and cities across the country who died on the battlefield in Laos.


Since its construction, the cemetery has received and cared for nearly 11,000 remains of martyrs who died on the battlefield in Laos, including nearly 7,000 graves with unknown names and hometowns.


This is also the only cemetery in Vietnam named after two countries and two peoples, Vietnam and Laos, and is a symbol of the loyal solidarity of the two brotherly peoples.
