The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document directing solutions to ensure a balance between supply and demand and stabilize the market at the end of the year and during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.
In implementation of Directive No. 12/CT-BCT dated November 20, 2024, of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on implementing solutions to ensure supply-demand balance and stabilize the market at the end of 2024 and during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, on December 13, the Provincial People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 1134/UBND-KT directing solutions to ensure supply-demand balance and stabilize the market at the end of the year and during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to closely monitor market developments, supply and demand of essential goods, especially those with high demand or significant price fluctuations in the province recently, and proactively develop plans to implement solutions to ensure a balance between supply and demand, stabilize the market, and prevent shortages or disruptions in the supply chain that could lead to sudden price increases during the end of the year and the Lunar New Year.
The presiding body, in coordination with relevant departments, agencies, and units, will promote the implementation of activities under the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign; organize networking and trade promotion activities to support the consumption of safe products, regional specialties, and create a supply of goods for the Tet holiday.
Urge businesses to actively implement Directive No. 29/CT-TTg dated August 27, 2024, of the Prime Minister on stimulating consumer demand, supporting production, business, and developing the domestic market; Direct manufacturing and business enterprises in the area to focus on boosting production and business, proactively researching the market, building production plans, stockpiling goods, especially essential goods for Tet, and expanding the distribution network; Direct units and businesses to organize fairs to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, remote areas, and mountainous regions to increase access for middle and low-income people, people in rural and mountainous areas, and areas affected by natural disasters.
Directing petroleum businesses in the province to maintain sufficient reserves, proactively develop plans to ensure the supply of petroleum to the market, and commit to ensuring adequate petroleum supply in the province during the end of 2024 and the Lunar New Year 2025, selling at the listed prices, and opening stores according to registered hours, contributing to stabilizing the petroleum market in the province to ensure production, business, and circulation of goods.
Direct, monitor, inspect, and closely supervise the electricity supply of power companies in the area; develop contingency plans to ensure sufficient electricity for production and daily life of the people during the end of the year and the Lunar New Year 2025; pay attention to ensuring fire safety in public places, residential areas, and recreational areas.
In coordination with the Provincial Market Management Department and other functional forces, localities are strengthening market inspection and supervision activities, focusing on checking prices, product quality, food safety regulations, acts of speculation, hoarding, unreasonable price increases, legal regulations on petroleum business, and checking the quality, measurement, and selling price of petroleum products circulating in the market.
In coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion organizes festivals associated with healthy and economical recreational activities in the area.
In coordination with the Department of Information and Communications, mass media agencies in the area will provide full and timely information on the market, prices, food safety management, etc., and publish it in the Industry and Trade Newsletter and the Department's website; widely promote the implementation of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign and laws on consumer protection, and control false information that could destabilize the market.
Coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns to monitor the situation of goods and supply capacity at businesses in the area to review and balance the supply and demand of essential goods for Tet, and promptly advise on solutions to stabilize the market.
The price stabilization report is submitted to the Department of Finance for timely compilation and presentation to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision on appropriate policies, measures, and timeframes for price stabilization, as well as assignment of implementation responsibilities in case of unusual fluctuations in market prices of refined gasoline, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the province.
The Provincial People's Committee assigns the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Health, the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Transport, the Department of Culture and Sports, the Department of Science and Technology, the Provincial Market Management Department, the Provincial Customs Department, the State Bank of Vietnam - Nghe An Branch, and other relevant departments and agencies to effectively balance the supply and demand of goods and stabilize prices of goods under their management, based on their assigned functions and tasks.
