Pepper prices today, December 16, 2024, in the domestic market decreased sharply from 1,000 to 1,500 VND/kg compared to last week. The average pepper price is at 145,800 VND/kg. In contrast, world pepper prices increased across the board last week.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to last week, reaching 146,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to last week, currently at 145,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Dak Nong decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to last week at 146,200 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau are the same as last week, currently at 146,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai is unchanged from last week at 146,000 VND/kg.

In addition, pepper prices today in Binh Phuoc are stable compared to last week, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.

World pepper price today

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,787 USD/ton (down 0.31%), and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,068 USD/ton (down 0.31%).

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is at 6,300 USD/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is at 8,200 USD/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper is at 10,400 USD/ton.

Vietnamese black pepper prices today remain high, trading at 6,300 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 6,600 USD/ton; white pepper prices at 9,400 USD/ton.

The pepper market continued to record mixed developments in the second week of December. Both domestic and international pepper prices in India showed an upward trend. Meanwhile, Indonesian black pepper prices have been increasing continuously for the past three weeks, but white pepper prices have shown a downward trend.

According to information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery export turnover in 2024 could reach over 60 billion USD. This will be a new record, exceeding the set target and reaching the highest level ever.

In particular, this year also marks an important milestone after a decade, when Vietnam's pepper exports surpassed 1 billion USD for the first time. By the end of November 2024, pepper export turnover reached 1.22 billion USD, an increase of 46.5% over the same period in 2023.
