The largest "royal orange" garden in the Central region

Over the past two years, a new product has appeared in the Vietnamese agricultural market that has been increasingly welcomed and favored by the market. That is FVF fresh oranges - one of the outstanding "talents" from TH Group. Only in its third year of bearing fruit, this orange variety has quickly proven its special appeal.

After 9 months of care, the orange garden ripens in the last months of the calendar year. The harvest lasts for 3 months - from November to January of the following year. Planted entirely with Xa Doai CS1 orange variety, TH's orange garden strictly adheres to VietGAP standards, using absolutely no chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The orange garden uses 100% organic fertilizer imported directly from Israel combined with Greenma organic fertilizer of TH Group - a product that utilizes high-quality raw materials from TH dairy farm, environmentally friendly, and safe for users.

With a concentrated planting area of over 70 hectares, this is known as the largest “royal orange” garden in the Central region today. Thanks to the process of selecting high-quality varieties, good agricultural practices and applying modern technology in the planting and care process, each crop of TH Group’s FVF orange garden can supply the market with more than 1,000 tons of clean and quality oranges.

Considered a famous specialty of Nghe An, Xa Doai oranges have a sweet, cool and juicy taste, leaving an unforgettable impression on anyone who has ever enjoyed them. With the desire to bring specialty oranges to more people, in 2018, TH Group began planting and developing an orange garden under the FVF brand in Nghia Binh and Nghia Dan communes, following the direction of clean agricultural practices, applying high technology to create good quality oranges, delicious, clean, rich in vitamins, nutrients, good for consumers' health.

This was considered a bold move because at that time, most of the orange acreage in Nghia Dan in particular and the whole province in general was entering a stage of degeneration and disease was developing strongly.

Nghia Dan land has weather, climate and soil conditions that are very suitable for the growth and development of Xa Doai CS1 orange variety, which can create a delicious and unique flavor. Combined with the scientific and technological advances that the enterprise possesses, TH believes that this idea will be successful. The Group's leaders decided to build an experimental model applying high technology to preserve the famous Xa Doai orange variety of Nghe An.

The oranges grown in the garden are perennial orange trees originating from the CS1 orange variety, selected and developed from the famous Xa Doai orange variety, with round, thin skin, yellow flesh, few seeds, even segments, juicy flesh, and a sweet, refreshing taste. Modern technology is comprehensively applied by TH Group at every stage, from selecting varieties, caring for them to harvesting, preserving and distributing them to consumers to bring fresh, clean oranges of premium quality, with a sweetness of 11.5 brix or higher, and can even reach 14-15 brix when the fruit is ripe (brix is a scale to measure the sweetness of fruits and vegetables), rich in nutrients and vitamins, and good for health.

High technology applications and sustainable values

With an investment of billions of dong, the drip irrigation system using Israeli technology is automated and easily managed on an application installed on the phone. Through sensors, all indicators of nutrition, humidity, PH, light, wind speed, etc. are measured and updated in detail. From there, the system calculates the specific nutritional needs of the tree and automatically waters when the tree shows signs of water shortage. If previously, to irrigate 70 hectares of oranges, it took about 30 workers to irrigate within 15 days, now only 1 person is needed to control and irrigate within 3 days, saving 2/3 of the amount of irrigation water; each worker can be in charge of caring for and managing 7-8 hectares of oranges.

Modern irrigation systems, organic products and meticulous, scientific care processes have been effective in providing nutrients to the plants, keeping the roots warm, and minimizing pests and diseases. This helps ensure that the orange trees grow healthily and completely naturally.

After nearly 6 years, FVF orange garden now has 60% of the trees bearing fruit in the third year with a yield of more than 20 tons/ha, sweetness reaching 11 degrees Brix or higher. FVF oranges are available in almost all supermarket systems nationwide and are well received by consumers. This success has affirmed the right, methodical and scientific direction with sustainable nature of TH Group's high-tech experimental model.

The first sustainable value and also the most important goal of TH Group when implementing the FVF orange model is to bring clean, closed agricultural products from farm to table. And that goal is gradually realized when fresh, sweet, safe and nutritious oranges have reached thousands of consumers.

Saying no to chemical fertilizers at FVF orange garden also helps maintain natural ecological balance, minimizing negative impacts on the soil, water, air and surrounding flora and fauna - which are the fundamental factors of green agriculture and sustainable agriculture.

In addition, most of the FVF orange garden workers are local farmers. Through exposure, application and operation of modern systems and equipment, they will improve their technological capacity and progressive farming thinking, thereby contributing to the agricultural sector a force of technology-savvy farmers.

With the FVF orange product, TH Group once again uses the real story of the process of selecting high-quality varieties - good agricultural practices - applying high technology - applying modern harvesting, preservation and distribution technology to bring consumers clean, good quality products.

The project of planting and developing orange gardens under the FVF brand on the largest concentrated area in the country by TH Group can be considered a typical example of applying modern technology to develop sustainable green agriculture. This is also the basis for TH to continue implementing new, large-scale agricultural projects, strongly applying advances in science and technology to develop sustainable green agriculture associated with environmental protection.

The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghia Dan district said: In the "golden age", the orange area of the whole district was up to about 1,800 hectares but now it is only about 170 hectares. With an average yield of up to 30 tons/ha, the FVF orange experimental model has helped local people see a new direction in restoring the orange area and developing the economy, getting rich on their own land.

FVF oranges are certified to meet VietGAP standards. FVF fresh orange products have also been announced by the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control - Ministry of Health to meet food safety standards according to TCVN 11892-1:2017.
