Four suspects arrested, nearly 90 kg of firecrackers seized.

The Thanh Chuong District Police, in coordination with relevant units, have cracked down on and dismantled a smuggling ring dealing in prohibited goods, arresting four suspects residing in the district and seizing nearly 90 kg of firecrackers.

Through intelligence gathering, the Thanh Chuong District Police discovered several individuals in the area exhibiting suspicious behavior related to the illegal trade of firecrackers. During the investigation, law enforcement faced numerous difficulties due to the suspects frequently changing locations and disguising their illegal activities using various methods.extremely sophisticated tacticsIn response to this situation, the Thanh Chuong District Police established a special task force, concentrating their resources and personnel to combat and dismantle the operation.

Using coordinated operational measures, on December 15, 2024, the Special Investigation Team, in collaboration with relevant units, successfully dismantled a smuggling ring, arresting four individuals: Nguyen Canh Xa (born 1979), Dinh Chi Tuyen (born 1987), Bui Van Thuyet (born 1985), and Bui Van Anh (born 1987), all residing in Thanh Yen commune, Thanh Chuong district, for the offenses of trading and possessing prohibited goods. At the scene, authorities seized 86.5 kg of various types of firecrackers and other related evidence.

At the police station, the suspects confessed to ordering the firecrackers from an unknown man (whose identity and background are unclear) via social media, then hiding them at home before dividing them into smaller portions to sell for profit. When someone placed an order, the suspects packaged and sent the firecrackers disguised as fireworks via delivery services, passenger buses, or trucks to the buyer.

Currently, the investigation into this case is ongoing and being expanded.
