Rice price on December 24: Recorded slight increase of 100 VND/kg in some rice varieties, while new rice transactions are still slow, prices are stable
Rice prices increase in the Mekong Delta
The Mekong Delta region recorded a slight increase in rice prices. According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, the price of IR 504 raw rice increased by VND 100/kg, ranging from VND 9,200 - 9,400/kg. IR 504 finished rice also increased similarly, to VND 11,300 - 11,500/kg.
Regarding by-products, prices of items range from 5,600 - 8,200 VND/kg. However, the price of fragrant rice bran decreased by 100 VND, to only 8,100 - 8,200 VND/kg, while the price of dry bran remained at 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg.
Transaction developments in localities
In some localities such as Lap Vo - Vam Cong (Dong Thap), the amount of imported rice is small, the quality is average to good, the price is relatively stable. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the amount of goods is not much, large warehouses only ask to buy small quantities, transactions are slow and the price depends on the quality of rice.
At Sa Dec market, transactions are taking place slowly, warehouses are mainly observing the market, prices remain stable. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the market recorded little good rice, mostly average quality rice with prices unchanged.

Rice prices at retail markets are stable
In retail markets, rice prices today remained unchanged from yesterday. Regular rice remained at VND17,000 - 18,000/kg. Some specialty rice varieties had higher prices, such as Nang Nhen rice at VND28,000/kg, fragrant rice at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg, and Japanese rice at VND22,500/kg. Other popular rice varieties such as Jasmine, Nang Hoa, or Soc Thai ranged from VND17,000 - 22,000/kg.
Rice prices remain stable
Today's rice prices are also stable in An Giang. Specifically, IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates from 7,400 - 7,600 VND/kg, OM 5451 rice is at 8,400 - 8,500 VND/kg, and Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) is from 9,100 - 9,200 VND/kg. Other varieties such as Nhat rice, Nang Hoa 9 or OM 18 also keep their prices unchanged compared to previous days.
In provinces such as Long An, Dong Thap, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Kien Giang, new rice transactions are quite slow. Although farmers tend to offer prices higher, the actual transaction volume is not much because traders have not yet finalized their purchases.
Stable export rice prices
In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remain stable. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 5% standard rice remains at $502 per ton, 25% broken rice at $470 per ton, and 100% broken rice at $405 per ton.
