Reasons for sharp increase in pork prices
According to the leader of Hoc Mon wholesale market, the price of live pigs increased due to the high demand for pork at the end of the year, while the supply is still limited. The herd restoration in many localities is slower than expected, along with concerns about disease, which has reduced the number of pigs coming to the market. This is the main reason for the significant increase in the price of live pigs and related products.
