A fisherman from Nghe An died in an accident at sea.
The cause of death was determined to be due to the victim being careless while fishing and falling into the sea, getting caught in the net, leading to drowning and death.
On the morning of December 24, Nghi Thiet commune authorities received a report that a fisherman, residing in Hai Thinh hamlet, Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district, used a vessel with registration number NA 73292 TS, about 7.2m long, to catch seafood at sea since the previous afternoon and had not returned, and could not be contacted by phone. Initial assessment was that the vessel may have had an accident and sunk, and the victim fell into the sea and went missing.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Border Guard Station of Cua Lo - Ben Thuy port, Nghe An province Border Guard sent 6 officers and soldiers led by the Deputy Station Chief and 1 canoe to coordinate with local authorities and Party committees to search for the missing fisherman; at the same time, notified boats and fishermen operating near the area where the victim went missing to assist in the search.
At 10:40 a.m. on December 24, search forces discovered the body of the missing victim caught in a fishing net in the sea about 1km from shore. The cause of death was determined to be due to the victim being careless while fishing and falling into the sea, getting entangled in the net, leading to drowning and death. The vehicle was pushed by waves and collided with a cliff, causing complete damage.
Currently, the family has brought the victim's body home for burial according to local customs./.
