Arrest of loan shark, illegally profiting hundreds of millions of dong in Nghe An
Taking advantage of the difficult economic situation and the need of some local people to borrow money for business, Nguyen Thi Dieu lent many people a total amount of billions of dong, thereby illegally profiting hundreds of millions of dong. This subject was recently arrested by Nghi Loc District Police for the act of lending at high interest rates in civil transactions.
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation, Nghi Loc District Police discovered a number of subjects in the area with signs of committing crimes related to usury in civil transactions. After conducting verification, Nghi Loc District Police decided to establish a special project to focus on fighting this type of crime.

After a period of synchronously using professional measures and collecting sufficient documents and evidence, on December 23, 2024, Nghi Loc District Police broke the case and arrested Nguyen Thi Dieu (born in 1983), residing in Nghi Lam Commune, Nghi Loc District, for the act of lending at high interest rates in civil transactions.
The seized evidence included a car and many related documents proving the suspect's criminal behavior.
Through the investigation, the initial investigation team proved that Nguyen Thi Dieu lent 6 people a total of 1 billion 150 million VND, with an interest rate of 4,000 VND/1 million VND/day, thereby illegally benefiting 423 million VND.
Currently, the case is being investigated and expanded.
