Suburban areaLam River(from Vinh city to Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong districts...) is considered an area with great potential for developing riverside ecotourism, combined with cultural and spiritual tourism. Through the survey, this place possesses convenient traffic infrastructure, a rich historical and cultural relic system, and especially the Folk Song Heritage Vi, Giam recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

According to a report from the Department of Science and Technology, river tourism is a type of tourism that has long been exploited in many countries around the world. In Vietnam, only a few localities such as Hue, Da Nang, and Can Tho have developed this type of tourism, while many large rivers with historical, cultural and unique landscape values have not been effectively exploited. Lam River, a river with rich cultural sediments of Nghe An, is also among them.

In fact, some hotels and restaurants have exploited eco-tourism along the Lam River, providing services such as enjoying typical river cuisine, listening to folk songs and visiting historical and cultural relics along the river.

However, these activities are spontaneous, without synchronous investment from the government and businesses. The key point is the lack of long-term planning strategy, including identifying stops, entertainment, shopping, sightseeing areas and coordination between related industries, businesses and localities.

In the first phase, the focus will be on connecting sightseeing and experience spots at famous landmarks along the Lam River, in Vinh city, Nam Dan and Thanh Chuong districts (Nghe An province) and Nghi Xuan and Duc Tho districts (Ha Tinh province)./.
