Eliminated from the top 3 nominees for Impressive Male Actor, Doan Quoc Dam apologizes to the audience
Doan Quoc Dam spoke up about not being in the top 3 nominees for Impressive Male Actor at the VTV Awards 2024.
Actor Doan Quoc Dam said that he has noticed many negative reactions from the audience, with opinions that the VTV Awards 2024 organizers are unfair and have arranged the results. Therefore, he decided to speak up to correct his absence from the top 3 nominees for Impressive Male Actor of the award.
“I would like to clarify that the award and the art council are very fair. Because my actions have affected VTV’s reputation, I would like to apologize. And I would also like to apologize to the audience who love me, who spent their love, time and money to vote for me,”Doan Quoc Dam shared.
The actor realized that he was still lacking, "not yet perfect in mind and character", so he proactively withdrew from the award.
“I have withdrawn from the award to have more time to review and hope to do better, to be worthy of the audience's trust. Once again, I affirm that the award is still fair as the audience expects, there is no negative story here. I apologize and thank the audience of Vietnamese films as well as VTV",he stressed.
This is not the first time Doan Quoc Dam has asked to withdraw from the VTV Awards. In 2023, he also asked to withdraw from this award from the beginning.
Previously, the VTV Awards 2024 Organizing Committee announced the top 3 categories of Impressive Male Actor including Duy Hung, Quang Su and Long Vu. The results were based on 50% of the audience's votes and 50% of the score from the professional panel.
