Thai ethnic female student in Nghe An stands out at the ceremony to honor outstanding students and youth nationwide

Mac Luong Ha Anh was honored to be one of two outstanding representatives selected to speak at the 11th National Commendation Ceremony for Outstanding Students and Youth in 2024, held in Hanoi on December 27-28.

Mac Luong Ha Anh was born and raised in a family with parents who are government officials in Thach Giam town, Tuong Duong district, a remote mountainous area. She is currently a first-year student at the Faculty of International Relations, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.

The 11th National Outstanding Students and Youth Commendation Ceremony in 2024 was attended by 125 students and youth from 33 ethnic groups across the country. Among them were 12 individuals from 11 ethnic minorities with small populations or facing special difficulties. Ha Anh was honored to be one of the two outstanding representatives chosen to speak.

Appearing in the traditional costume of the Thai ethnic group, Ha Anh impressed with her confidence and bravery. In front of hundreds of delegates, she expressed her deep gratitude to the Party, the State, her parents, teachers, friends and vowed to devote herself to the development of her homeland.

With a gentle, inspiring but confident voice, Ha Anh shared: "I promise to maintain my political stance, constantly improve my ethics, strive to study and practice to contribute to the development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas. I wish to return to join hands in building my homeland to become more and more prosperous and prosperous."

In her speech, Ha Anh also emphasized the importance of education in changing lives in ethnic minority areas: "Since childhood, I have witnessed the hard life of the local people. I realized that studying and training is the right way to change life, not only for myself but also for the community."

As the eldest of two children, Ha Anh has been self-conscious about her studies since she was a child. Thanks to her constant efforts, she has always achieved high results throughout her high school years.

In the 2024 National High School Graduation Exam, I scored 10 in Geography and was admitted to the Diplomatic Academy. In 2023, I won a Gold Medal at the World Invention and Creativity Olympic (WICO) held in Korea. In the 2023-2024 school year, I was awarded the title of "3 Good Students" at the Central level by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Not only is Ha Anh a good student, she is also an active member of the Youth Union. She often calls for donations of books, clothes, and school supplies to support poor students in Nghe An province.

Ms. Luong Thi May Huyen, Ha Anh's mother, shared: "The family is very happy and proud when she was recognized. Especially, when I saw her confidently speaking at the ceremony, I clearly felt her maturity. Hopefully, with her current achievements, she will continue to strive to not let down her family and teachers."

With outstanding ability, enthusiasm and dedicated guidance from family and teachers, Ha Anh promises to reap more success in the future, becoming a shining example for the young generation of ethnic minorities to follow.
