MU will have 6 new recruits in 2025
Micah Richards believes Manchester United will continue to spend heavily in 2025 to strengthen their squad, in line with coach Ruben Amorim's tactical style.

The Red Devils are currently struggling in the 2024/25 season, sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table after a poor start. Despite replacing coach Erik ten Hag with Ruben Amorim at the end of October, the Portuguese tactician has failed to make a significant positive change.
According to Richards, although it is unlikely to make big signings in the January transfer window, he believes that Man United will recruit about 5 or 6 new players in the summer of 2025. Richards believes that Amorim still does not have the players he wants to implement, especially in midfield, where the Red Devils lack the strong and energetic elements that the Portuguese strategist desires.
Richards also believes that Amorim needs more time to reshape his squad, as he is currently working with players who do not fully fit his football philosophy. Former striker Alan Shearer also pointed out the problem with United's midfield, as the team still has to rely on older names like Casemiro and Eriksen, who are no longer able to press or move continuously as Amorim wants.
Despite United spending big in the summer of 2024, with the signings of Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, the team still lacks depth in a number of key positions. An all-round striker and central reinforcements remain an urgent need. Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres has been linked, but a January move for him could prove costly.
With the current difficulties, Man United will certainly need to make a lot of effort in the summer transfer window to restructure the squad and achieve the goal of competing higher in the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
