In 2024, the Vietnam Maritime Administration - Ministry of Transport issued a Decision to announce the opening of general wharves No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 of Vissai International Seaport in Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc - Nghe An) managed by Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company.

The operation of the multi-purpose ports greatly contributes to serving import and export in Nghe An and the North Central provinces, serving temporarily imported and re-exported goods from Laos to many countries around the world.

Accordingly, general ports No. 4, No. 5, No. 6 are allowed to receive ships with a capacity of 50,000 - 70,000 tons to load and unload general cargo, containers, and bulk cargo. Port No. 7 receives liquefied petroleum gas (LNG) and bulk cargo ships with a capacity of up to 30,000 tons.

Thus, along with specialized wharves, the wharves in the Vissai seaport area in Nghi Thiet receive Vietnamese and foreign ships to load and unload goods and perform other maritime services.

The event recognized the pioneering efforts in exploiting seaports in Nghe An by Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company, a member of The Vissai Group. To have the above-mentioned wharves, from 2021 to now, Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company has invested over 1,200 billion VND to build and complete the construction items of wharves No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 in Nghi Thiet sea area according to the design approved by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment approved the environmental impact assessment report.

The general ports 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company in Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district (Nghe An) have a natural depth of minus 9m - 12m. A solid breakwater is built around the port, ensuring safety for ships loading and unloading goods. Many large cargo ships highly appreciate the level of safety when the port has a good breakwater and a well-invested crane and wharf system.

In 2024, Vissai's general ports in Nghi Thiet sea area welcomed more than 200 ships entering and leaving the port with a cargo volume of over 2,100,000 tons. At the same time, 2 specialized ports for cement export welcomed 750 ships loading and unloading more than 6,000,000 tons of goods. Of which, the company's cement is exported to many markets in Europe, America, Africa, Asia; the US market alone is nearly 2,000,000 tons.

The operation process has confirmed that the waterway and turning basin at Vissai general port ensure good exploitation. Pilotage activities, maritime safety, maritime security, fire and explosion prevention, and environmental protection at Vissai general port ensure good technical safety conditions for large tonnage vessels according to design to enter and exit the port conveniently and safely.

In the first official steps of operation, the port has attracted many customers to load and unload goods with a large warehouse area, meeting the storage and circulation of goods. Thereby, it not only serves the development of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company but also meets the import and export requirements of other businesses through the seaport.
