Traffic police sent notices of over 200 speeding violations on the North-South Expressway within 15 days.

Implementing the plan of the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring traffic order, safety and social order during the New Year, Lunar New Year, and the Spring festivals of 2025, from December 15 to 29, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 - Road and Railway Traffic Patrol and Control Guidance Department (Traffic Police Department), in charge of the National Highway 45 - Nghi Son - Dien Chau - Bai Vot, deployed forces and used modern professional equipment to inspect and handle many traffic violations.

According to the report of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 - Road and Railway Traffic Patrol and Control Department (Traffic Police Department), from December 15 to 29, the unit deployed a total of 45 shifts, with 315 officers and soldiers participating on the route. Through inspection work, the Team has drawn up records to handle 203 violations.

The main violations include: exceeding the prescribed speed limit, not wearing a seat belt, using a phone while driving, changing lanes without signaling, etc. The total fine is up to 663,200,000 VND, and at the same time, the driving licenses of 97 cases were revoked and the badges of 9 cases were revoked.

At the same time, through the use of technical equipment such as speedometers with recording, patrols, mobile control using handheld cameras to detect and handle violations. 348 violations were detected, including 251 cars, 62 trucks, and 35 passenger cars.

Recorded 67 cases of speeding violations (including 53 cars, 14 trucks), 9 cases of lane changing without signaling (including 8 cars, 1 truck). Sent fine notices for 222 cases of speeding violations, 85 cases of lane changing without signaling.

Implementing the plan of the Ministry of Public Security, from December 15, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 simultaneously launched a campaign to attack and suppress crimes, ensure security, order and traffic safety, with the primary goal of minimizing traffic accidents, ensuring people's safe and convenient travel during the New Year and Lunar New Year 2025.
During this peak period, the Team will focus on checking and handling violations with high risk of causing traffic accidents on the highway, such as: speeding, changing lanes without signaling, stopping and parking in the wrong place, alcohol concentration violations, etc.
Also according to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Kim Thi, starting from January 1, 2025, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road traffic will officially take effect, replacing Decree 100/2019/ND-CP. The new Decree stipulates very high fines, so people need to understand and strictly comply to avoid fines and contribute to reducing traffic accidents.
