Pig price today January 8, 2025: Pig price today returned to an upward trend in some localities, especially in the Mekong Delta region.

Pig price today January 8 in the North

The price of live pigs today, January 8, 2025, in the Northern region continued to record a slight increase in Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang provinces, both increasing by 1,000 VND, reaching 69,000 VND/kg and Nam Dinh reaching 68,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the area is fluctuating between 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

Of which, Hanoi, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang are the provinces with the highest live pig price in the country at 69,000 VND/kg. Ninh Binh has the lowest live pig price in the region at 67,000 VND/kg.

The remaining localities in the region are trading live pigs at a common price of 68,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today January 8 in Central and Central Highlands

The price of live pigs in the Central Highlands region increased by one in Quang Nam, reaching 67,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in this area fluctuates from 66,000 - 68,000 VND/kg. Of which, the level of 66,000 VND/kg appears in the provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan.

Pig price today January 8 in the South

In the Southern region, pork prices are increasing in many localities, with prices in the whole region fluctuating between 66,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

In particular, live pigs in Kien Giang increased in price, reaching 69,000 VND/kg, the same transaction level as Dong Nai and Tay Ninh.

In Can Tho, Soc Trang, Ca Mau and Ben Tre, the price of live pigs reached 68,000 VND/kg. An Giang and Bac Lieu both increased to 67,000 VND/kg.

Pork prices at supermarkets and food companies

On the morning of January 8, Meat Deli chilled pork products continued to stagnate in price on the website winmart.vn. Currently, pork prices at WinMart range from 109,520 - 165,522 VND/kg and are discounted by 20% under the preferential program for members.

Of which, pork belly and lean ham are the two types of meat with the highest prices among the products surveyed here, at 165,522 VND/kg and 149,520 VND/kg respectively. Following that is pork shoulder, which remains unchanged at 123,120 VND/kg.

Pork prices at Ha Hien Fresh Food Company continued to move sideways this morning. Currently, pork products are sold at prices ranging from 76,000 - 175,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, Ha Hien is selling spare ribs at 175,000 VND/kg, the highest price among the surveyed products. Slightly lower are pig tails and pork belly, listed at 162,000 VND/kg and 146,000 VND/kg, respectively.

Deputy Director of the Department of Animal Health Phan Quang Minh said that in 2024, the veterinary sector effectively controlled many diseases in livestock and poultry nationwide.

Specifically, the number of bird flu outbreaks decreased by 23.8% and blue ear disease decreased by 60%. Thanks to that, the livestock industry achieved a growth rate of 5.2-5.5%, ensuring food supply for domestic consumption and promoting exports.

Regarding the work of building disease-free areas and facilities, the country currently has 3,750 certified livestock facilities and areas in 60 provinces and cities. Of these, there are 1,269 disease-free facilities for poultry, 2,430 facilities for livestock and 51 rabies-free areas.
