According to feedback from traffic participants, some intersections such as Quynh Giang intersection (Quynh Luu), the intersection between N5 and National Highway 1A (Nghi Loc), or Nguyen Sy Sach intersection (Vinh City)... all have faulty traffic lights.

Specifically, at the Quynh Giang intersection (Quynh Luu), the traffic lights flashed in unison, unclear. Mr. N.D.H, a driver, shared: "This situation makes us hesitate, not knowing whether to stop or move, causing a high risk of traffic accidents."

Faced with the above situation, authorities need to quickly fix it to ensure smooth and safe traffic.

The issue that people are concerned about is whether they will be fined when accidentally running a red light at intersections with faulty signals, especially when there is camera surveillance.

Through investigation, the main cause of the traffic light failure is due to old and degraded lighting systems. This can lead to people accidentally violating the law. However, according to the representative of the authorities, people do not need to worry too much. When handling violations, the traffic police will coordinate with related units to verify and ensure that the right person and the right error are punished, avoiding wrongful cases.

According to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, effective from January 1, 2025, the penalty for non-compliance with traffic light signals has been significantly increased. Specifically:

For drivers of cars, four-wheeled passenger vehicles or similar vehicles: fine from 18-20 million VND (old regulation was 4-6 million VND).

For drivers of motorbikes, scooters or similar vehicles: fine from 4-6 million VND (old regulation was 800,000 - 1 million VND).
