Meritorious Artist Chi Trung also attracted attention when he posted on his personal Facebook page a photo of himself wearing the Tao Quan costume a few years ago, with the caption: "Tao Toi 2025 greets life", "Oh, almost enough!", "Guys, I know that if we had all the "old Tao" that everyone has loved for the past 20 years, it would be great, but "things change", if you keep asking for all of them, it would be too difficult and unintentionally hurt the entire Tao team, both young and old, who have contributed to the common success for the past 22 years!" Chi Trung also said that he had received an invitation to participate in the Tao Quan Spring 2025 program, but was still waiting for the script and director to see if it was suitable or not!
During the 2024 Tet season, the show had a big change in the cast, with only People's Artist Quoc Khanh still playing the role of Ngoc Hoang and Thao Van playing the role of MC. The role of Nam Tao, which had been nailed by comedian Xuan Bac for many years, had to be given to another actor, because Xuan Bac was busy with a long performance schedule.
Taking on the roles of Tao Quan 2024 are "new" artists such as: Meritorious Artist Tu Oanh: Tao Van The; Meritorious Artist Ba Anh: Tao Giao Thong; Meritorious Artist Quoc Quan: Tao Kinh Te; Ha Trung: Apartment Manager; Quan Anh: Tao Xa Hoi; Meritorious Artist Tien Minh: Thien Loi; Viet Bac: Tro ly assistant and other artists. In particular, the character Nam Tao has been taken over by young actor Do Duy Nam.
This year, everyone also expected Xuan Bac's Nam Tao to return. However, at the regular press conference of the fourth quarter of 2024 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, he confirmed that he would not participate in "Tao Quan 2025".
Not only Xuan Bac, but Cong Ly is also not present in Tao Quan this season.
Currently, the Tao Quan 2025 program crew is urgently practicing. Although there is no clear information yet, Duy Nam's appearance in the rehearsals has made many viewers speculate about the possibility that he is this year's Nam Tao.
Duy Nam is not a new actor of Tao Quan, but has had a long journey with the program through many different roles. From the mischievous "Miss Dau" in 2017 to the majestic "Pho Thien Loi" in 2019 and then "promoted" to Nam Tao in Tao Quan 2022, Do Duy Nam has gradually affirmed his ability.
In 2023, when People's Artist Xuan Bac returned, he and Trung Ruoi took on the role of assistant to the duo Nam Tao - Bac Dau. Coming to Tao Quan 2024, in the context of the program having many changes in the cast, Do Duy Nam was trusted with the important responsibility of Nam Tao, accompanying the Jade Emperor to travel to the underworld in a completely new version of Tao Quan.
This year, the Vietnam Television Film Center - VFC will not produce Tao Quan, but VTV3 channel will take over the production of this program. Meritorious Artist Quang Thang said that he has received an invitation to participate in Tao Quan 2025. "Even if the production team changes, Tao Quan is still a political comedy program that many people look forward to," Meritorious Artist Quang Thang shared.
