Vinh City opens technical routes, removes 3 'bottleneck' intersections before Tet At Ty 2025
According to the Vinh City Investment Project Management Board, the city is making efforts to remove 3 "bottleneck" intersections before the Lunar New Year 2025.

These are the intersection between Nguyen Truong To Street and Dang Thai Mai Street under the project to upgrade and expand Nguyen Truong To Street, Hung Dong Ward, Vinh City; the intersection of 24m road connecting 72m Vinh - Cua Lo Street (behind Vinaconex 9 Urban Area) to Pham Dinh Toai Street in Nghi Phu Ward and the intersection of 24m road connecting Nguyen Chi Thanh Street to Dang Thai Mai Street, in Hung Dong Ward, Vinh City.

Among the newly handed over intersections, the bottleneck intersection between Nguyen Truong To Street and Dang Thai Mai Street, in Hung Dong Ward, is nearly 100m long and the site clearance work is quite complicated because many households have not agreed with the initial plan.
To carry out the construction, it is necessary to mobilize and clear dozens of households and units in My Hau block, Hung Dong ward.

The project to upgrade and expand Nguyen Truong To Street started in 2018, but due to difficulties in site clearance and the need to adjust the design to straighten the route, the investment capital was not adjusted until 2022. The project has a total investment of 73.5 billion VND, a length of 1.4 km from the starting point of the intersection with Nguyen Chi Thanh Street to the end point of the intersection with Dang Thai Mai Street, a construction boundary of 24m wide, 12m of roadway, 6m wide sidewalks on each side, asphalt concrete pavement, tazero brick sidewalks, drainage ditches and a green tree system, and lighting system along both sides of the road.

Similarly, according to the design of the 24m road, from the 72m Vinh - Cua Lo road (behind the Vinaconex9 Urban Area, in Nghi Phu Ward) to Ly Tu Trong Street, Ha Huy Tap Ward, the length is about 1.2 km. However, due to difficulties in site clearance, only phase 1 is currently being implemented from the 72m Vinh - Cua Lo road to Pham Dinh Toai Street, with a length of about 500m. Of which, 400m has been under construction since 2020; the remaining 100m of bottleneck will not be cleared until the end of 2024.

Along with the two bottleneck intersections above, on this occasion, Vinh city also mobilized and successfully cleared 3 households at the 24m wide intersection connecting Nguyen Chi Thanh Street through Hung Dong Urban Area to Dang Thai Mai Street, Yen Xa Block, Hung Dong Ward.
A representative of the People's Committee of Hung Dong commune said: This bottleneck is about 30m long but has existed for decades, making it very difficult for people to travel from Nguyen Chi Thanh street to Dang Thai Mai, making it impossible to put the Urban Area project in Yen Xa block, Hung Dong ward into operation.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phong - Director of Vinh City Investment Project Management Board said: Following the bottlenecks of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street or Ly Thuong Kiet Street, before Tet, the city has put into technical acceptance and operation of the above 3 "bottlenecks" a great effort of the entire political system.
In reality, the construction of clearing "bottleneck" intersections has never been easy. The common characteristic of these intersections is that they are not long but the site clearance is difficult, the city's departments and units have to carry out quite a lot of mobilization work. Recently, when the State allowed the city to apply compensation prices close to market prices, it mobilized the displaced people to receive compensation and hand over the site for construction.
