Online mobile trial - an innovation in legal propaganda in Nghe An
Organizing online mobile court sessions not only helps save costs, but also expands the influence of legal propaganda, providing opportunities for people to access legal information through online platforms. This is an innovative initiative in legal propaganda, applied by the People's Court of Nghe An province in recent times.
Court connects 6 districts
The online mobile trial of the People's Court of Nghe An province held in Long Son commune, Anh Son district took place solemnly, attracting the participation of many local people. All developments of the trial in Long Son commune were broadcast live to 89/98 commune-level People's Committee bridges of 6 districts: Ky Son, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong and Anh Son. The first case involved defendant Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1995), residing in Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province, who was caught red-handed transporting more than 3.8 kg of crystal meth. At around 8:00 a.m. on April 26, 2023, Hung agreed with a Laotian man to transport drugs from the Ho Chi Minh trail area, Thanh Chuong district for consumption. After receiving the drugs in the afternoon, Hung continued to transport them and at 3:15 p.m. the same day, while moving through Vo Liet commune (Thanh Chuong district), he was discovered and arrested by Vinh City Police. At the investigation agency, Hung confessed to his crime. After reviewing the circumstances, the Trial Panel sentenced Nguyen Van Hung to death.
The second case involved human trafficking by the defendants Lo Thi On, Vi Thi Vien, Kha Van Ngoc and Lo Thi Thuyen. In 2014, Lo Thi On and her accomplices tricked and sold Hung Thi Ua (born in 1988, residing in My Ly commune, Ky Son district) to China. After illegally crossing the border, Hung Thi Ua was sold to a Chinese woman, and the group of defendants received 90 million VND from this.
However, in December 2023, Ms. Ua was returned to Vietnam by the Chinese police and she filed a complaint against the subjects. After the incident was exposed, the defendants turned themselves in and confessed to their crimes. At the trial, the Trial Panel sentenced the defendant Lo Thi On to 4 years in prison, the remaining defendants to 3 years in prison each for the crime of "Human trafficking"; at the same time, the court required the defendants to compensate the victims according to the agreement between the families.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - a resident of Long Son commune shared: "Not only me and the people in the commune can follow the trial, but with the online mobile form, my family members in Ky Son district can also follow this trial directly. Previously, my family members and I only knew about the trials through stories, but now, we can witness the trial process with our own eyes and clearly feel the fairness of the law. Participating in the trial helps us easily access legal information right in the locality without having to travel far."
This is the second time the People's Court of Nghe An province has conducted this form of trial. Previously, the People's Court of the province organized an online mobile trial at another bridge, transmitted to 21 commune People's Committee bridges in Quy Hop district.
Building a transparent and modern electronic court
The goal of organizing online mobile court sessions is not only to save costs but also to expand the scope of legal dissemination to a large number of people, especially in remote areas, through Internet platforms.
This form helps raise legal awareness, encourage people to participate in crime prevention and control, especially drug crimes, human trafficking, etc.Mr. Tran Ngoc Son - Chief Justice of Nghe An Provincial People's Court
To implement the online mobile court session, Nghe An Provincial People's Court coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to direct the People's Committees of districts and communes to organize online connections, announce the court session link to local bridges, and at the same time, inform people to participate and follow.
In particular, the District People's Courts also play a role in supporting the bridge points in connecting online, ensuring the quality of internet connection, sound and image systems at the bridge points. This helps ensure the coherence and transparency of the online trial, creating conditions for people to easily access and monitor the entire trial process.

Also according to the Chief Justice of Nghe An Provincial People's Court: Currently, the Provincial People's Court has synthesized, evaluated the results and proposed to the Supreme People's Court the plan of "Piloting not to organize direct mobile trials", but instead organizing court sessions at provincial or district courts, broadcasting online to all commune-level People's Committee connection points in the province.
This model not only improves the effectiveness of propaganda about crimes but also contributes to improving the quality of trials, promoting digital transformation and building a transparent and modern electronic court. At the same time, coordinate with People's Committees at all levels, organizations and unions to organize online court sessions on propaganda topics, not only criminal cases but also other types of cases.
