Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De inspected agricultural production in Quynh Luu
On the morning of February 20, a working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the agricultural production situation in Quynh Luu district.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and the working delegation inspected the pineapple production area in Tan Thang commune, the locality with the largest pineapple growing area in Nghe An province with more than 1,480 hectares.

Identifying pineapple as the main crop, accounting for over 72% of agricultural income, in recent times, Tan Thang commune has directed households to master the production process to produce pineapple products according to demand. The average yield of 1 hectare of pineapple is 41 tons (Queen pineapple alone reaches 40 tons/ha; MD2 pineapple reaches 60 tons/ha).
To consume products for people, in the area there are 2 cooperatives and 2 companies specializing in pineapple production as well as responsible for linking the consumption of high-quality pineapple to stable markets, namely Dong Giao Pineapple Factory and Nafoods Food Processing Factory.

However, according to the assessment of the agricultural sector of Quynh Luu district, the pineapple consumption market is unstable. In 2024, the post-harvest pineapple output of farmers will only be consumed in the district and province, accounting for only 32%, the rest is the northern and southern markets.
To help people feel secure in production and stabilize output for pineapple products, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and the working delegation visited and worked with Nafoods Food Processing Factory located in Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu district, belonging to Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company.

Proposing to the provincial leaders, the Company hopes to expand the development planning, establish and standardize pineapple raw material area codes in 3 communes: Tan Thang, Quynh Thang, Quynh Chau and the western districts of Nghe An from 3,000 hectares to 5,000 hectares by 2030, associated with expanding the production and processing scale at the factory from 200 tons/day to 1,000 tons/day.
Agreeing with the company's recommendations and proposals, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested that the company urgently start implementing and proposing the scale and area to expand the production area and factory according to the development plan.
The province as well as related departments and branches will create conditions for the company to establish and standardize the growing area code to control the traceability of raw materials. Comrade Nguyen Van De requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to soon issue a plan on building growing areas to ensure conditions for exporting crops in the province, including pineapple; prioritize building factories right in Quynh Luu district.
Next, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De and the working delegation inspected the vegetable production situation of farmers in the coastal communes of Quynh Luu district.
