Breaking up a transnational gambling ring with total transactions of over 100 billion VND
Da Nang police have just coordinated with relevant units to break up a transnational gambling ring with a total transaction value of more than 100 billion VND.
On February 23, Da Nang City Police announced that they had just broken up an online gambling ring.
Previously, the Criminal Police Department of the City Police discovered an online gambling ring with many participants from across the country. Notably, this ring was organized by foreigners and had its headquarters abroad.
The Criminal Police Department has coordinated with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and local police to investigate this network.

On February 21, the task force divided into many groups to simultaneously inspect and summon 17 subjects residing in Hue City, Da Nang City, Quang Nam Province and Quang Binh Province... to work; at the same time, they seized many exhibits.
The subjects confessed to downloading card game apps online to their phones or computers (the apps include playing lottery, dice, thirteen, phom...).
To gamble, the subjects access the available link to play directly or can download the app to play. When depositing and withdrawing money, the subjects use the form of internet banking transfer, through electronic wallets, e-wallets or through scratch cards of mobile network operators.

To avoid police detection, these apps only allow playing history to be saved for no more than 7 days, and the images on the interfaces are disguised by the subjects with normal entertainment games.
Police determined that from June 2024 to present, this line has organized for more than 10,000 gamblers to participate with a total transaction amount of more than 100 billion VND.
The police investigation agency has issued an emergency arrest warrant, temporarily detained 11 subjects, and continued to expand the investigation.
