Nghe An Provincial Police held talks with Hunan Provincial Police (China)

On the afternoon of February 28, Nghe An Provincial Police held talks with Hunan Provincial Police (China).

Attending the talks, on behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, there were: Colonel Nguyen Hoa Chi - Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Lieutenant Colonel Dam Thi Thanh Huyen - Deputy Head of Department, Department of Foreign Affairs.

On behalf of the Nghe An Provincial Police, there was Colonel Le Van Thai - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; representatives of the functional departments of the Provincial Police. On behalf of the Hunan Provincial Police (China), there was Comrade Xa Le Hoa - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police and other members of the working delegation.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the good friendship between the two countries; the relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Chinese Ministry of Public Security; and some situations related to security and order in the area.

In 2024, the relationship between Vietnam and China has made remarkable new progress in politics, economy, society as well as security-defense cooperation and development cooperation. Leaders of the two countries' Ministries of Public Security have had high-level meetings and delegation exchanges, coordinated the organization of conferences, and launched many peak campaigns to fight and prevent crime.

Nghe An is the largest province in Vietnam, a place with many scenic spots associated with the development of the country, the homeland of the great President Ho Chi Minh, a close friend of Chairman Mao Zedong and the Chinese people. In recent times, there have been many activities to promote cooperation and strengthen the relationship between the two countries and the two provinces.

Continuing the common achievements of the two countries' Ministry of Public Security, the two provincial authorities and on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, nearly 25 years of establishing cooperative, friendly and twinning relations between Nghe An and Hunan provinces, the talks marked a turning point of extremely important significance in the coordination and cooperation in many fields of work of the two provincial police.

Cooperation is even more important when the two sides increase information exchange, crime prevention and control, cyber security, digital transformation, arrest of wanted criminals, etc. This is also a special occasion for the two sides to meet, exchange experiences, and agree on the contents and measures of coordination between the two provincial police to orient long-term cooperation.

At the meeting, the two sides approved the draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Nghe An Provincial Police and Hunan Provincial Police, on the basis of mutual trust, equal and mutually beneficial cooperation and compliance with the laws of each country.

Within the scope, functions, tasks and powers of each side and with the permission of the leaders of the two countries' Ministries of Public Security, the Public Security of the two provinces will strengthen cooperation and exchange of experiences in the following fields: coordination to ensure security and safety of important political events; combating and preventing transnational crimes...

Every year, the police forces of the two provinces study and report to the leaders of the two countries' Ministries of Public Security on plans to send officers to participate in training cooperation programs; agree to establish a channel to exchange information on situations and incidents related to social order and safety, etc.

Before holding talks, the delegations of the two provinces' police laid flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in the provincial police station and paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Nghe An provincial police station.
