The February report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources from March 1) said that coffee export turnover is estimated at 854.2 million USD with an output of 150,000 tons.

In the first two months of 2025, coffee exports reached 284,000 tons, earning 1.58 billion USD. Although the volume decreased by 28.4% compared to the same period in 2024, the export value still increased by 26.2%.

Compared to January 2024, coffee exports to Germany increased by 53%, to Italy by 5.6% and to Japan by 10.4%. Among the 15 largest export markets, Poland recorded the strongest increase, 2.9 times higher than the same period last year.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market also fluctuate:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery March 2025: Down 46 USD/ton, to 5,330 USD/ton.

Delivery in May 2025: Down 47 USD/ton, to 5,290 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

March 2025 delivery: Down 0.55 cents/lb, to 373.05 cents/lb.

May 2025 delivery: Unchanged at 364.75 cents/lb.

Arabica coffee prices fell sharply last week, mainly due to increased inventories on the ICE exchange. Meanwhile, Robusta coffee prices, despite falling sharply at the beginning of the week, were still above $5,000/ton at the close. This shows that Robusta supply is having problems, preventing prices from falling even though the harvest has just ended.

Brazil’s drought continues to raise concerns about the coffee crop. Minas Gerais, Brazil’s largest Arabica growing region, received just 12.4 mm of rain last week, or 20% of its historical average, according to the meteorological agency Somar Meteorologia. This could support coffee prices in the near term.

According to experts, coffee prices may continue to decline slightly in the short term due to the remaining high supply pressure. The latest forecast shows that Robusta prices may fall by another $100-150/ton if buying power does not return soon.

In the medium term, the market may recover in April when Brazil enters its new harvest, which is usually when coffee prices see a slight upward adjustment due to increased demand from roasters.

However, the market still has many potential risks in the context of an unstable global economy. According to a survey by Reuters, Arabica coffee prices could fall by about 30% by the end of 2025, to $6,200/ton.
