According to TASS, on March 2, Bloomberg reported, citing its own sources, that in order to restore relations with the US, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should issue a public apology for what happened during negotiations with President Donald Trump at the White House.

Bloomberg sources note that the Trump administration has made this clear.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that British officials had failed to persuade the US administration to resume discussions with Ukraine on the minerals deal, with the signing having fallen through after a heated argument in the White House between leaders Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky. According to the agency's sources, Washington rejected London's request, stating that US leaders needed time to calm down.

Earlier, in an interview following his meeting with the Ukrainian leader, President Trump said that dialogue with Zelensky could resume if the Ukrainian leader stopped criticizing Russian President Vladimir Putin and clearly stated his desire for a peaceful solution.

On the Ukrainian side, President Zelensky still doesn't understand what he did wrong in his meeting with President Trump and says he will not apologize to the American leader.

US Senator Ted Cruz said in a podcast on social media platform X that Zelensky only needed to negotiate a peace deal with US President Donald Trump that would benefit Ukraine, but instead he decided to start a quarrel.

“Mr. Zelensky walked into the Oval Office and decided he could confront Mr. Trump. He thought he could bring Mr. Trump down. It’s no exaggeration to say this will go down in history as the worst meeting at the White House,” Senator Cruz said.

US lawmakers also agreed with the view that all of Zelensky's actions were premeditated.

"He had only one goal: to come and ask President Trump to sign a good peace agreement for Ukraine. That was his whole mission. But Zelensky thought his decision was smarter than everyone else's," the US senator remarked.
