According to records at flower shops in Hanoi such as Nguyen Khanh Toan (Cau Giay), Tran Hung Dao (Hoan Kiem) and Nguyen Trai (Thanh Xuan), fresh flower prices have slightly adjusted compared to normal days, but are still within a reasonable level.
Da Lat roses - the most popular flower on March 8 - are currently priced from 20,000 - 35,000 VND/flower, depending on the type. Tulips range from 90,000 - 150,000 VND/branch, while ranunculus flowers are priced from 20,000 - 50,000 VND/flower.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Nga, manager of Dalat Flower 365 days flower shop, the flower trend for March 8 this year is still mainly red and pink tones, with many outstanding flowers such as Lac Than roses, Ecuadorian roses and tulips.
The shops also offer a wide variety of flower designs, from pre-packaged bouquets of various sizes to decorative flower baskets, priced from VND500,000 - VND1,500,000/basket.
Wax flowers and wool flowers are on the rise thanks to their low prices.
Besides fresh flowers, artificial flowers such as wax flowers and wool flowers are also chosen by many consumers because of their affordable prices and long shelf life. The price of wax flowers and wool flowers ranges from 10,000 - 20,000 VND/flower, much cheaper than fresh flowers.
Many stores also sell flowers online at preferential prices on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada and TikTok, giving consumers more convenient options.
The trend of giving fresh flowers has cooled down and become more practical.
