While carrying his brother's funeral, the hearse was going up the mountain when it slid backwards, killing his brother and injuring several people.

The heartbreaking story just happened in Thanh Lien commune (Thanh Chuong).

On the morning of March 18, family, relatives and people in Lien Thanh hamlet, Thanh Lien commune sent Pham Van Hieu (38 years old) - the victim who was crushed to death by a hearse - to his final resting place with endless sorrow.

Previously, on the afternoon of March 17, people in Lien Khai hamlet, Thanh Lien commune, held a funeral for Pham Hong Chung (48 years old) - Hieu's brother, who passed away suddenly. When the hearse (16-seat car) was carrying the coffin up the mountain at Dong Dai cemetery in Thanh Lien commune, due to slippery roads, the hearse slid down the slope and hit Hieu who was riding behind the car, causing him to die on the spot.

Several mourners following the car were also injured, including Mr. Chung's sister's child who suffered a broken rib.

Currently, local people, children of Thanh Lien commune living far from home, and fellow Thanh Chuong villagers are organizing to call for donations to help the victim's family.
