Prosecution and temporary detention of female Mercedes driver who caused multiple accidents
On March 18, the Police Agency executed the Decision to prosecute the accused and the Arrest Warrant to temporarily detain Nguyen Thi Thanh Ngoc for the crime of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation". This accused is the female driver of the Mercedes car that caused a series of accidents in Thu Duc City, killing one person and injuring many others...
Previously, at around 5:20 p.m. on March 16, Nguyen Thi Thanh Ngoc (born in 1984; permanent resident of An Phu ward, Thu Duc city) was driving a car on Vo Nguyen Giap street from Binh Thai intersection to Dong Nai bridge.

When arriving at the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Le Van Viet streets (Hiep Phu ward, Thu Duc city), Ngoc stepped on the brake to stop at a red light, but mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal, causing the car to rush forward and collide with 10 motorbikes stopped in front.

The collision resulted in 4 people being injured (including 5 motorbikes whose drivers have not been identified, as the drivers left the scene after the incident). Ms. HTTT (born in 1997, from Dong Nai) was seriously injured and was taken to Gia Dinh People's Hospital for emergency treatment, where she died at around 6:00 a.m. on March 17.
Immediately after the accident, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department coordinated with the Traffic Police Department and other professional units of the City Police, the Thu Duc City People's Procuracy and the Hiep Phu Ward Police to examine the scene, collect evidence and take statements from those involved. The test result of Nguyen Thi Thanh Ngoc's alcohol concentration was 0.664 mg/L of breath and negative for drugs.
