In preparation for this year's enrollment season, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a Decision approving the enrollment plan for grade 10 ethnic boarding high schools and grade 6 ethnic boarding middle schools. Accordingly, in the 2025-2026 school year, the Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities will enroll 7 grade 10 classes with 245 students (35 students per class). As for the Ethnic Minority Boarding High School No. 2, it will enroll 6 grade 10 classes with 210 students (35 students per class).
In addition to the above quota, the two schools are allowed to enroll students from ethnic minorities. Candidates must pass the entrance exam for grade 10 of high school in the 2025-2026 school year.

According to regulations, there are 3 groups of people who are allowed to take the entrance exam to high schools for ethnic minorities and the quota for each group will be different.
Of which, ethnic minority students whose parents or guardians have been permanently residing for 36 consecutive months or more as of June 2025 will account for 90% of the school's enrollment quota.
Students of Kinh ethnicity who themselves and their parents or guardians have resided for 36 consecutive months or more as of June 2025 in particularly disadvantaged communes and villages will be given priority for admission with 10% of the school's enrollment quota.
As for ethnic minority students with very few people as stipulated in Decree No. 57/2017/ND-CP dated May 9, 2017 of the Government "Regulations on preferential admission policies and learning support for preschool children, pupils and students of ethnic minorities with very few people" will be directly admitted according to regulations.
In addition, students who have won national and international awards in culture, arts, sports, and science and technology competitions for high school students will also be directly admitted.

Regarding admission to grade 6, this year the Provincial People's Committee assigned the ethnic minority boarding secondary schools of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Que Phong, Quy Chau, Quy Hop districts to each school to recruit 3 classes with 105 students (35 students per class) by selection.
The Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Education and Training to provide specific instructions for schools to implement, ensuring fair, objective, transparent admission procedures, suitable to the local situation.
Admission criteria for ethnic minority boarding secondary schools are similar to those for provincial ethnic minority boarding high schools and ethnic minority boarding high schools No. 2.
Thus, in this school year, the province has assigned 1,085 quotas to ethnic boarding secondary and high schools. These are schools with the highest quality of education at the provincial and district levels. Every year, the number of candidates registering for the entrance exam to ethnic boarding high schools is often 2 or 3 times higher than the set quota.
