Today's domestic pepper price on April 5 is at 150,500 - 152,000 VND/kg. Domestic pepper price has a record decrease from 6,000 to 6,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Malaysian pepper price slightly decreased from 0.5 to 0.8%.

Pepper price today April 5, 2025 in domestic market

Pepper prices today in some key growing areas have dropped to a record low compared to yesterday. Thereby, maintaining the domestic pepper price level at 150,500 VND/kg to 152,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak decreased sharply by 6,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 152,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai decreased sharply by 6,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 150,500 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Dak Nong decreased by 6,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 152,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper price today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is currently at 151,000 VND/kg, down 6,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai decreased 6,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday at 151,000/kg.

In addition, pepper price today in Binh Phuoc decreased by 6,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 151,000 VND/kg.

In the first two months of 2025, Vietnam mainly exported unground black pepper. According to the General Department of Customs, this item accounted for nearly 59% of the total volume and more than 56% of the total export value. Specifically, the export volume reached nearly 16 thousand tons, worth about 103.9 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, although the output decreased by more than 24%, the value increased by nearly 49%.

In contrast, ground white pepper exports recorded a 17% decrease in volume. However, two products, ground black pepper and white pepper, showed an upward trend, increasing by 10.2% and 61.2% respectively compared to the same period in 2024.

In general, pepper export prices continued to increase sharply during this period, contributing to the total export value of all types. Of which, black pepper achieved the highest increase in value, up more than 113% compared to the previous year.

Regarding the US market, Mr. Phan Minh Thong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Sinh Company - said that the US partner has just sent the 5th revised tariff update in 2025. In particular, coffee and pepper exported from Vietnam to the US continue to be exempted from tax.

Mr. Thong affirmed that all coffee products, including roasted, unroasted or decaffeinated, as well as coffee-containing substitutes, are subject to "free" tax rates. For pepper, the tax exemption policy is also maintained, which continues to bring a great competitive advantage for Vietnamese exports to the US market.

Pepper price today April 5 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on April 1 (local time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained stable compared to yesterday at USD 7,239/ton. In addition, Muntok white pepper prices remained stable compared to yesterday at USD 10,066/ton.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,950/ton.

The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper decreased slightly compared to yesterday, currently at 9,850 USD/ton (down 0.51%). In addition, the price of ASTA white pepper of this country also decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching 12,300 USD/ton (down 0.8%).

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 7,100 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 7,300 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,100/ton.
