Seeing the child he was playing with fall into a construction hole, Nam Phong ran into the house and called adults to come and rescue him in time.

On April 6, a video of a boy in Nghi Dien commune (Nghi Loc district) running into his house to call his mother to save his drowning friend went viral on social media. The video immediately received many comments from netizens.

The video recorded the scene where Nam Phong called adults to save his friend.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (41 years old) said that the boy in the clip is Nguyen Nam Phong (3 years old). Three years ago, when he was only a few weeks old, Nam Phong was abandoned in front of his house with a letter asking him to adopt him. Since then, he and his wife have asked the authorities to adopt the boy, even though the family already had 4 children.

Mr. Thanh said that on the afternoon of April 5, a friend's child came to his house to play. The child was only 5 years old. Nam Phong then went out to the family's garden to play with the boy. A few minutes later, the 5-year-old boy slipped and fell into a hole about a meter deep, with water about a few dozen centimeters deep underneath. The hole was located next to the foundation of a neighbor's house under construction.

Phong immediately ran into the house, hit his mother who was sitting on the porch talking to some people, and stammered: "Mom, help help." The boy pointed toward the garden, then ran outside.

After a few seconds, the adults understood what was happening and immediately ran out to the garden about 15 meters away from the house, rescued the 5-year-old boy who was struggling in the construction hole and brought him safely to shore.

"My child is very smart, agile and understanding. Watching the camera, I was surprised by his actions in saving his friend," said Mr. Thanh.
