Tariffs generate $2 billion per day for the US Treasury.
US President Donald Trump said that tariffs are working very well, bringing in $2 billion a day to the country's treasury.

According to RIA Novosti, US President Donald Trump said that tariffs bring in $2 billion a day for the country's treasury.
"We're making about $2 billion a day from tariffs. And we're doing very well," President Trump said at the White House on April 8 (Washington time).
According to Trump, work is also progressing well toward reaching an agreement with the countries involved in the new mission. President Trump and the White House have used the comparison to "tailor's work" to describe the negotiations, saying that willing nations will receive a "tailor-made and tailored" deal, rather than a "ready-made" one.
White House press secretary Caroline Levitt said the U.S. will continue to apply higher import tariffs alongside negotiations with Washington's trading partners.
"Reciprocal tariffs will continue to be applied as agreements are negotiated. These tariffs will generate trillions of dollars in revenue for the United States," Secretary Levitt told reporters at a press briefing.
The White House press secretary also said that President Trump has instructed the administration to negotiate customized trade agreements with U.S. partners, “unique to each country,” but that these agreements must still promote job growth in the U.S., increase productivity, and reduce the trade deficit.
Ms. Levitt said that President Donald Trump would be "extremely generous" if China were willing to negotiate on tariffs. Levitt emphasized that, in any case, President Trump would act in the best interests of the United States, but he believes that Beijing wants a deal with Washington.
The White House press secretary called China's retaliatory measures a mistake. "If you hit America, you'll get hit harder," Levitt said.
Earlier, Fox News reported, citing a White House spokesperson, that the US had increased import tariffs on Chinese goods to 104%, effective April 9th.
