Coach Kim Sang-sik leads ASEAN All-Stars to face Manchester United in Malaysia
Vietnam National Team Head Coach Kim Sang-sik will be in charge of the ASEAN All-Stars team that will face Manchester United in a historic match in Malaysia.
The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has just announced official information about coach Kim Sang-sik - captain of the Vietnam National Team, the reigning Southeast Asian champion, will take on the role of leading the "ASEAN All-Stars" team in the international friendly match with the famous Manchester United Club.

This special event will take place as part of the Maybank Challenge Cup, on 28 May 2025 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Malaysia. More than just a football match, this is an opportunity to showcase ASEAN unity, pride and leadership through sport.
AFF President Lieutenant General Khiev Sameth said: “Coach Kim Sang-sik is a symbol of professionalism and development. His presence as the head coach of the ASEAN All-Stars Team will surely inspire not only the players but also millions of fans across the region.”

The match also had a profound humanitarian meaning as it aimed to raise funds for the Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA) Charity, a prestigious organization in Malaysia. This is a testament to AFF’s commitment to using football as a tool to create positive impacts off the pitch.
