Police raided a casino in the forest, arresting 36 suspects and seizing 800 million VND.
Police have just dismantled a sophisticated gambling den, arresting 36 individuals and seizing approximately 800 million VND along with numerous cars and motorcycles.
Through intelligence gathering in the area, police detectives in Lam Dong province discovered suspicions about a group of individuals specializing in large-scale mobile gambling in Ha Lam commune, Da Huoai district. Colonel Truong Minh Duong, Director of Lam Dong Provincial Police, assigned Lieutenant Colonel Dau Xuan Bao, Deputy Director, to directly oversee the investigation and handling of the case.

On the evening of April 13th, dozens of police officers, divided into several teams, trekked through the forest and waded through streams, launching a surprise raid on a bamboo forest area in Hamlet 4, Ha Lam Commune, about 4km from National Highway 20. There, authorities caught 36 individuals red-handed gambling using cockfighting and dice games. All suspects were apprehended and arrested. Police seized approximately 800 million VND in cash, gambling equipment, and nearly 40 cars and motorcycles.

The individuals involved in the gambling operation all had complex backgrounds. Some had prior convictions for gambling offenses and came from various locations, including Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Kon Tum, and Dak Nong. The gambling activities were typically mobile, with a four-layered security system and a sophisticated surveillance network. To participate, players had to be acquainted with the gamblers or pass multiple thorough checks.
Currently, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Lam Dong Provincial Police is continuing to consolidate the case file and clarify the actions of each suspect.
