Strong winds ripped off the roofs of schools in Ky Son.

A strong storm caused damage to the roof of a kindergarten in Keng Du commune (Ky Son district). Fortunately, all the students were safe.

According to information from the local authorities of Keng Du commune, the tornado that occurred at approximately 3:30 PM on April 23rd caused damage to the commune's kindergarten in Huoi Le village. A row of classrooms with corrugated iron roofs was completely blown off.

Ms. Hoang Thi Lan, principal of Keng Du Kindergarten, said: "The strong wind forced the teachers and students to close all the doors and stay inside the room. Luckily, the children were studying at the time, so they weren't affected. This school has 49 students and has been affected by strong winds for many years."

"Currently, the commune authorities have sent forces to assist the school in assessing the damage and mitigating the consequences of the tornado to ensure the facilities are in place to stabilize teaching and learning activities," added Mr. Luong Van Ngam, Chairman of the Keng Du Commune People's Committee.

Also in Ky Son district, there have been frequent afternoon showers and strong winds in recent days. On April 21st, in My Ly commune, rain and tornadoes also ripped off the roofs of several houses in Yen Hoa village.
