Arrested couple involved in drug case and helping murderer Bui Dinh Khanh escape
On April 24, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that the unit, in coordination with Quang Ninh Provincial Police, successfully arrested two subjects related to a drug trafficking case busted by Quang Ninh Provincial Police.
Expanding the case, Quang Ninh Provincial Police discovered two related subjects: Nguyen Van Linh (born in 1989), residing in Yen Lac town, Yen Lac district, Vinh Phuc province, is a subject related to the drug trafficking and transportation ring; Ngo Thi Hoan (Linh's wife (born in 1988), residing in Thu Cuc town, Tan Son district, Phu Tho province) is a subject related to the discussion to help Bui Dinh Khanh escape after committing the crime (Khanh is a subject in the drug crime group that opened fire to fight back, causing Major Nguyen Dang Khai to die).
Upon receiving a request for coordination from the Quang Ninh Provincial Police, on the night of April 22, the Lao Cai Provincial Police mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers from professional departments, police of communes, wards and towns to verify, investigate and arrest the couple. The reconnaissance force quickly identified the subjects as being on National Highway 70 in the direction of Pho Lu town, Bao Thang district and successfully investigated and arrested Nguyen Van Linh and Ngo Thi Hoan.
On April 23, Lao Cai Provincial Police handed over the subject to Quang Ninh Provincial Police.
