According to RIA Novosti, US President Donald Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social that the demands to transfer Crimea and other territories to Ukraine are "absurd".

This is how he commented on an article by The New York Times and in particular its chief White House correspondent Peter Baker. The New York Times published an article on April 26 claiming that the actions of the “occupier of the White House” during the first 100 days of the president’s term were allegedly beneficial to Russia.

“No matter what deal I make with Russia or Ukraine; no matter how good it is, even the greatest deal ever made, the New York Times, which is going through a difficult time, will talk badly about it. The very biased and incompetent Peter Baker caved to the demands of his editorial board and wrote that Ukraine should be given back its territories, including Crimea, and other ridiculous demands,” President Donald Trump wrote.

Earlier, on April 24, President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, saying that his comments about Crimea were harming negotiations with Russia. According to the US leader, the situation in Ukraine is very bad and the head of the Kiev government must "either restore peace or lose the entire country within three years."

In related developments, Moscow has repeatedly pointed out Russia's inability to negotiate. Russian Foreign Ministry official spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed that President Zelensky broke the meeting on Ukraine in London, the Easter ceasefire and the order to halt attacks on energy facilities.

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov noted that there has been some progress in the negotiations, but there are still many discussions ahead.
