Coffee prices today, April 28, 2025: Two consecutive weeks of increases.
Today, April 28th, domestic coffee prices are at 130,000 - 130,700 VND/kg. Coffee prices have increased for the second consecutive week, rising by 1,000 VND/kg. The global coffee market continues to be affected by weather conditions in Brazil.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, April 28, 2025, remain unchanged compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 130,000 and 130,700 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at the highest price of 130,700 VND/kg. This remains unchanged from yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province remains unchanged from yesterday at 130,700 VND/kg.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province remained unchanged, trading at 130,500 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices remained unchanged at 130,000 VND/kg.
Coffee prices in the Central Highlands region fluctuated throughout the past week, with both increases and decreases occurring daily. However, overall for the week, prices still rose by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous week.
In the first quarter, Vietnam exported 32,395 tons of coffee to the United States, generating $180.3 million in revenue. Compared to the same period in 2024, export volume decreased by 13%, but value increased sharply by 51% thanks to higher selling prices.
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the total volume of coffee exported nationwide in the first quarter reached 495,780 tons, worth $2.81 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume decreased by 15.3%, but the value increased by 45.8% due to the sustained high price of coffee worldwide.
World coffee prices today
Meanwhile, world coffee prices rose at a more significant rate. At the end of last week, on the London Stock Exchange, the online price of robusta coffee for July 2025 delivery stood at $5,415 per ton, up 2.6% ($138 per ton) from the previous week.
Notably, on the New York Stock Exchange, the price of arabica coffee for July 2025 delivery reached 399.85 US cents/pound, a sharp increase of 7.3% (27.25 US cents/pound) compared to the previous week.
The weakening US dollar has contributed to rising prices for many commodities, including coffee. The coffee market continues to be affected by weather conditions in Brazil, as the meteorological agency Somar Meteorologia forecasts very low rainfall in the coming days.
Some forecasts indicate a significant decrease in Brazil's arabica coffee production compared to the previous season. Rabobank forecasts Brazil's coffee production in the 2025-2026 season to reach 62.8 million bags, a 6.4% decrease compared to the 2024-2025 season. Within this, arabica production is projected to fall sharply by 13.6% to 38 million bags, while robusta production is expected to increase by 7.3%, reaching a record 24.7 million bags.
Rabobank reported that the dry weather in 2024 severely impacted the flowering of arabica coffee plants. However, robusta production remained high despite difficulties in Rondonia. Rainfall in March continued to be below average, except in the Cerrado Mineiro region; however, rain returned from the end of March, somewhat improving the situation.
According to forecasts by Itaú BBA, Brazil's coffee production in 2025-2026 will reach 64.4 million bags, a 3% decrease compared to the previous season, quite similar to the 64.5 million bags announced by StoneX. Itaú BBA expects arabica production to decrease by 10% to 40.9 million bags, while robusta production will increase by 12% to 23.5 million bags. The organization also stated that rainfall is forecast to increase, which, while potentially hindering harvesting, will better support the 2026-2027 crop.
