Kevin De Bruyne to refuse 'astronomical' contract offer to sign for Aston Villa

On social media, De Bruyne recently officially announced that the 2024/25 season will be the final chapter in his 10-year journey at the Etihad Stadium. After June 2025, he will become a free player.

According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa's board of directors have held internal discussions to consider the possibility of recruiting the 33-year-old midfielder. De Bruyne's desire to continue living with his family in England opens up more opportunities for Premier League teams.

Villa, however, is not alone in the race. In addition to his domestic rivals, four MLS clubs – Inter Miami, Chicago Fire, New York City and DC United – have also made lucrative offers to lure De Bruyne to the United States.

Not stopping there, the Como club, currently led by Cesc Fabregas, also expressed its ambition to recruit De Bruyne, while promising an attractive salary. From Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have asked the leadership of Al-Nassr to send a special invitation to bring the Belgian star to play in the national championship of this country.

The battle for Kevin De Bruyne's signature promises to be one of the biggest highlights of the 2025 summer transfer market.
