Aston Villa are quietly preparing a plan to sign Kevin De Bruyne, following the Belgian star's confirmation that he will leave Manchester City at the end of this season.

Kevin De Bruyne to refuse 'astronomical' contract offer to sign for Aston Villa

On social media, De Bruyne recently officially announced that the 2024/25 season will be the final chapter in his 10-year journey at the Etihad Stadium. After June 2025, he will become a free agent.

According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa's management has held internal discussions to consider the possibility of signing the 33-year-old midfielder. De Bruyne's desire for his family to continue living in England further opens up opportunities for Premier League teams.

However, Villa is not alone in this race. In addition to domestic rivals, four MLS teams – Inter Miami, Chicago Fire, New York City, and DC United – have also submitted attractive offers to persuade De Bruyne to move to the United States to play.

Furthermore, Como FC, currently managed by Cesc Fabregas, has also expressed its ambition to sign De Bruyne, promising an attractive salary. From Saudi Arabia, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly asking Al-Nassr's leadership to send a special invitation to bring the Belgian star to play in their national league.

The battle for Kevin De Bruyne's signature promises to be one of the biggest focal points of the 2025 summer transfer market.
