Coffee prices today, May 10, 2025: Slightly increasing again.
Today, May 10th, domestic coffee prices are at 128,300 - 128,700 VND/kg. Domestic coffee prices have slightly increased by 500 to 600 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The Prime Minister has directed relevant agencies to study solutions for temporarily purchasing and stockpiling agricultural products prone to price drops such as rice, coffee, and pepper.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, May 10, 2025, increased slightly compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 128,300 and 128,700 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at the highest price of 128,700 VND/kg, a slight increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 128,500 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 500 VND/kg and are trading at 128,500 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 600 VND/kg and reached 128,300 VND/kg.
According to Reuters, Arabica prices are being supported by speculative buying as inventories at ICE decline. Meanwhile, Robusta prices are holding steady due to low exports from Vietnam and slower-than-expected harvesting progress in Indonesia. However, favorable weather forecasts with rain in Vietnam's Central Highlands and robusta coffee growing regions in Brazil could ease concerns about supply shortages, thereby reducing short-term price pressure.
Given the unpredictable market conditions, the Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and other relevant agencies, to study solutions to support the temporary purchase and storage of agricultural products prone to price drops, such as rice, coffee, and pepper, in order to stabilize farmers' income during the peak harvest season.
At the same time, the Prime Minister requested ministries, sectors, and localities to closely monitor global trade developments, proactively manage flexibly, and promptly provide information to businesses to effectively cope with the challenges arising from international trade instability.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market showed mixed movements on the two exchanges:
Robusta coffee (London):
July 2025 delivery: Down $56/ton, to $5,209/ton.
September 2025 delivery: Decreased by $45/ton, to $5,168/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
July 2025 delivery: Up 0.1 cents/lb, to 387.45 cents/lb.
September 2025 delivery: Up 0.35 cents/lb, to 382.15 cents/lb.
Robusta coffee supplies in Asia are scarce as Vietnamese farmers have sold almost all of their stock, while the harvest season in Indonesia has not yet begun. This puts short-term supply pressure on the export coffee market.
In Brazil, preliminary data shows that green coffee exports in April reached only 2.88 million bags, a decrease of nearly 32% compared to the same period last year. Against this backdrop, speculative activity increased after several consecutive price declines, along with money flowing from the gold market to the two coffee exchanges, contributing to a slight price increase.
However, the upward momentum is being restrained by the strengthening US dollar following the US-UK trade talks and the Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates unchanged.
