Lotus Village Singing Festival 2025: Songs of Gratitude for Him
In the sacred month of May, when the lotus flowers begin to bloom throughout the villages of Nghe An, thousands of amateur artists from all three regions of the country will gather in Nghe An to participate in the 2025 “Lotus Village Singing” Festival – a heartfelt tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.

The enduring vitality of Sen Village Singing
Born in 1981, the “Sen Village Singing Festival” has continuously spread strongly over the years, from the village and commune scale to the national scale. It is a journey that not only nurtures deep feelings for Uncle Ho, but also honors the revolutionary musical heritage and contributes to spreading Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style to the entire community.
In previous years, from the end of March, the atmosphere of practicing for the festival was bustling throughout districts, towns and cities. At communal houses, village cultural houses, hamlets or commune and ward headquarters, mass art troupes enthusiastically practiced, each song and dance was carefully polished. In some places, the lights were still on until late at night, and some art troupes had to borrow the entire school yard to practice. Each festival season is a time when intangible cultural values are preserved and nurtured, each folk song, and Giam is sung with pride and emotion. It is this vitality that has made "Sen Village Singing" an indispensable part of the spiritual life of Nghe An people.
This year, in the special context when the whole country is restructuring administrative units, although the provincial level cannot organize widely as usual, many localities are still proactively keeping the movement alive.
A typical example is Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen), where hundreds of amateur actors from folk clubs, schools and grassroots units participated in the performance. The simple, profound folk melodies resounded not only as art but also as the people's feelings for Uncle Ho and their homeland.
Colors converge from all over the country
In 2025, to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the "Sen Village Singing" Festival will return on a national scale under the name of the "Sen Village Singing" Mass Art Performance, bringing together 31 mass art troupes from the North, Central and South. Each troupe brings a different tone and mood, but shares the same aspiration towards Him.

31 mass art troupes participated in the festival, including: An Giang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Cao Bang, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dien Bien, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Gia Lai, Hai Duong, Ha Tinh, Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa, Lang Son, Long An, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Phu Tho, Quang Ngai, Son La, Tay Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue and Vinh Phuc.
As the host, the Nghe An Province Mass Art Troupe put all its efforts into the program “Scent of Uncle Ho’s Hometown Lotus” - a touching medley recreating Uncle Ho’s journey from Lotus Village to the horizon of national salvation. The performance space was elaborately staged, applying modern stage technology, combining props such as conical hats, rice bundles, lotus ponds... creating a multi-layered emotional experience for the audience.
Singer Duy Thao, who performed the solo “We sing about Him” emotionally shared: “We tried a new arrangement to brighten the spirit of the song, but without losing the emotional depth. Every note, every look is a sincere dedication to Uncle Ho.”
From Ha Tinh, Mr. Nguyen Sy Chinh - Director of the Provincial Center for Culture, Cinema and Tourism Promotion said that the troupe will bring to the festival performances imbued with the sound of Vi and Giam folk songs, including new compositions and neo-classical works of Vi and Giam folk songs such as "Nguoi ve tham que". Singer Thuy Hong - who performed this performance, emotionally expressed: "The festival is not only an opportunity for us to pay tribute to Uncle Ho but also a place to learn, listen and feel the artistic spirit from all over the country. The stage is not only a place for performance, but also a place to express the hearts of artists - those who carry within them a passionate love for their homeland, their people and Uncle Ho".
Hai Duong troupe incorporated the image of the lychee homeland through 5 elaborate solo, choral, dance and flute performances. Meanwhile, Dong Nai troupe brought a youthful, modern spirit with 6 singing and dancing performances and a solo performance of the two-stringed fiddle. Mr. Cao Thep - the program director shared: "We carefully prepare each performance, conveying not only technique but also heart. Being on the Lang Sen stage is a great pride. Dong Nai artists bring to the program an open, friendly spirit and great love - just like the spirit of the sunny and windy Southern land but full of affection".
Delegations from Can Tho, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh... also rushed to complete the program, each with its own nuances and identity. Although different in style and region, all share a sacred sentiment - deep gratitude to Uncle Ho. With the gathering of nearly 1,000 mass artists from 3 regions of the country, this year's performance will not only be a cultural meeting place but also a spiritual gathering, where art takes off from love for the Fatherland and infinite respect for the great President Ho Chi Minh.
