Export rice price
In the export market, Vietnam's rice prices today (May 14) remain unchanged from yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association, the price of 5% broken rice is at 397 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton and 100% broken rice is at 321 USD/ton.
With this price, Vietnamese rice still maintains good competitiveness, especially in key markets such as Southeast Asia and Africa, where there is stable import demand.
Meanwhile, information related to military tensions at the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan has raised market concerns about the risk of trade disruption. However, representatives of the rice industry of the two countries have quickly reassured.
Satish Goel, President of the All India Rice Exporters Association (AIREA), said the current political situation has not affected rice exports. He asserted that the recent increase in Basmati rice prices is mainly due to the recovery in international demand, not due to supply disruption.
In fact, India has maintained a stable export volume of about 6 million tons of Basmati rice in the 2024-2025 crop year. At the same time, Pakistan has also recorded exports of about 1 million tons. Orders to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq have been regular, without any unusual fluctuations.
