The Song of Lang Sen Village – A Melody of Gratitude and Pride
The 2025 National Lotus Village Singing Festival – a special artistic event commemorating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth – is not only an opportunity for amateur artists to offer him heartfelt songs, but also a gathering place for the cultural essence of regions across the country.
Nghe An Newspaper recorded the impressions of some artists, actors, and officials who participated in the festival:
People's Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi – Vice President of the Vietnam Musicians Association, member of the Judging Panel: "The Lang Sen Singing Festival bears a profound artistic imprint."
After a long hiatus, the resumption of the National Lotus Village Singing Festival is an extremely necessary and meaningful artistic, political, and cultural activity. This is not only an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to the beloved leader, but also a chance for artists and amateur art troupes nationwide to gather and spread the profound humanistic values of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style through songs and performances.
At this year's festival, I noticed that the artistic quality of the works and performances by the amateur art troupes was more professional than in previous festivals. The works were not only seriously invested in but also demonstrated the creativity, dedication, and profound gratitude of the artists towards President Ho Chi Minh. What is particularly valuable is that many works carried profound messages, evoking national pride, love for the homeland, and the desire to contribute among all segments of the population.

A highlight of this year's festival is the diversity in performance styles and content, reflecting the richness of cultural life in various regions. From the vast Central Highlands and majestic Northwest to the waterways of the Mekong Delta, each art troupe brings its own unique characteristics – from music and dance to costumes – creating a vibrant artistic tapestry of national culture. This diversity creates a very distinct identity for the festival, demonstrating the blend of tradition and creativity, of personal feelings and national spirit.
I highly appreciate the many performances of outstanding artistic quality, especially the solo dances and instrumental solos – where the artists fully express their talent, emotions, and connection to the image of President Ho Chi Minh. The serious investment in every detail, from staging to expression, created poignant and memorable moments on stage.
Furthermore, we cannot overlook the contributions of the organizing units and sponsors, who have silently supported this meaningful artistic activity. It is they who have provided motivation and created opportunities for artists, especially amateur artists, to showcase their talents and express their feelings to the beloved President Ho Chi Minh and the public nationwide.
What I have high expectations for is the strong presence of the younger generation in this year's performance. They not only continue the tradition but also bring fresh and innovative ways of expression that resonate with modern life. Despite their creativity, these young people still maintain the depth of emotion, the spirit of humanism, and the reverence for Uncle Ho. This is proof of the sustainable inheritance and development of the revolutionary art tradition of Vietnam.
Actor Dang Duong Phat (Long An Provincial Amateur Arts Troupe): "We offer Him our complete gratitude."
As an actor of the Long An Provincial Folk Art Troupe, I feel extremely honored and proud to participate in the Village Lotus Singing Festival andNational Lotus Village Festival 2025– A deeply meaningful artistic event, dedicated to the beloved Father of the Nation. Standing on the stage in Uncle Ho's homeland, singing emotionally charged melodies, I felt as if I was offering Him my complete gratitude, respect, and unwavering faith.
At this festival, we present songs and dances rich in the cultural identity of Southern Vietnam, and we hope that through these songs and dances, we can introduce to friends nationwide the distinctive, rich, and proud cultural features of our homeland.
More than just a performance opportunity, the festival was also a precious chance for me to visit sacred historical sites such as the Kim Lien Historical Site – the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh, and Dong Loc Crossroads – a place that commemorates the heroic sacrifices of the young generation during the war. These trips made me understand and appreciate the value of peace, independence, and freedom even more, and ignited in me a strong belief in the revolutionary path chosen by President Ho Chi Minh and our Party. I vow to follow that path, using my singing to contribute to spreading patriotism, faith, and the aspiration to build a more prosperous and beautiful homeland.
Singer Pham Thanh Loan (Quang Ngai Provincial Folk Art Troupe): "I feel emotional and moved to have the opportunity to contribute my voice on this sacred occasion."
This is my first time participating in the Lang Sen Singing Festival, and it's especially significant that this year's festival takes place in the historic month of May, coinciding with the 135th anniversary of the birth of the great President Ho Chi Minh. Therefore, my emotions are very special – a mix of nostalgia, emotion, and pride in contributing my voice to this sacred occasion. Our group prepared meticulously well in advance – from staging and rehearsing the program to taking care of the health and morale of the artists and performers. Before the competition, we also had the opportunity to visit Lang Sen, President Ho Chi Minh's birthplace – a place with a truly simple and intimate setting – and listen to moving stories about his life and character.
At this festival, the Quang Ngai delegation presented performances praising the glorious Party, the beloved Uncle Ho, and the homeland that is changing day by day. With a spirit of exchange and learning, I always remember Uncle Ho's teachings:""Art and culture is also a battlefront. You are soldiers on that battlefront." I hope that spirit will spread widely at the festival and I wish all artists and actors from all over the country will have truly outstanding performances, leaving a deep impression on the audience.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuan - Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Cultural Center: "The Lang Sen Festival and the National Lang Sen Singing Contest left a deep impression and unforgettable emotions."
At this year's National Village Singing Festival, the Ninh Binh Provincial Folk Art Troupe presents many meticulously prepared performances. In addition to familiar songs praising the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, we are especially introducing a Xam singing performance with new lyrics composed by the troupe's own artists, expressing sincere feelings and respect for the President. Furthermore, the song "Ninh Binh remembers Uncle Ho"The program's distinctive character, reflecting the unique spirit of the ancient capital region, is also a highlight, evoking profound emotions about President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Ninh Binh.
Within the framework of this year's Lotus Village Festival, we are deeply honored to participate in the opening ceremony – a grand, spectacular, and moving event. In addition, the artists and performers in our troupe have had the opportunity to experience many unique cultural activities, deeply rooted in President Ho Chi Minh's homeland. We believe that this year's Lotus Village Festival in general, and the National Lotus Village Singing Contest in particular, will be a great success, leaving a lasting impression and unforgettable emotions in the hearts of all participants.
