Russia says Germany wants to conceal the transfer of Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
According to an official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in reality, "nobody knows how many units and when Germany transferred Taurus missiles to Ukraine."
According to TASS, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz only wanted to remove the issue of supplying long-range missiles to Ukraine from public discussions, but in reality, no one knows how many missile units Berlin has actually transferred to the Kiev authorities.
"The other day, German Chancellor Merkel said about supplying Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv that 'at this moment this issue is not on the agenda.' It seems this is a confirmation of Germany's desire for a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine, not only to secure a position in the preliminary talks, but also to have a 'seat' in the serious negotiations," spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
The Russian diplomat urged against being naive, as this was "a play on words" by the German leader. Zakharova explained that Chancellor Merz's main motive was to remove the issue of supplying long-range missiles from public discussions.
The diplomat asserted that, in reality, "nobody knows how many units Berlin will transfer to Kyiv and when."
Zakharova quoted a statement by the German Chancellor, in which he asserted that this topic had been discussed publicly.
"Here, see what Mr. Merz said: 'Discussions on the transfer of Taurus missiles to Kyiv have been conducted publicly, and this is a strategic advantage for Russia and a strategic disadvantage for Germany.' Currently, the German government has decided not to publicly disclose information about the supply of weapons to Ukraine," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman noted.
