Over 1700 candidates registered to take the entrance exam for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School.
This year, the number of candidates taking the entrance exam for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School is 400 fewer than in previous years. The competition ratio for specialized classes is also lower, increasing the chances of admission for candidates.
According to compiled data, in the 10th grade entrance exam -Phan Boi Chau Specialized High SchoolFor the 2025-2026 school year, 1,730 students registered for their first choice and 1,050 students registered for their second choice in 15 specialized classes.
Among the specialized classes, the one with the highest number of applicants was Literature with 322 applications. This was followed by Mathematics with 270 applications, and Chemistry and English with 159 applications each. The remaining specialized classes had 131 applications for Physics, 117 for Biology, 92 for Computer Science (taking the Computer Science exam), and 34 for Mathematics.
In the specialized language classes, the Chinese language class has 85 applications, the Russian language class has 74 applications, the Korean language class has 58 applications, and the Japanese language class has 52 applications. For the French language class, there are 34 applications to take the exam in English and 22 applications to take the exam in French.
The two remaining specialized classes, History and Geography, received 68 applications each. Although the number of applications for these specialized classes was significantly lower than for other classes, the number of candidates applying for their second choice was quite high, with 154 students applying for History and 109 for Geography. This number was only lower than the 603 applications for the second choice of the Mathematics 2 specialized class.
With over 1,700 applications, the number of candidates taking the entrance exam for Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School this year is more than 400 lower than last year. This was also predicted, as the number of students taking the 10th grade entrance exam across the province this year is about 5,000 lower than in previous years.
Previously, the Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision on the enrollment of 10th grade students and students into Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School for the 2025-2026 school year with 15 classes, including specialized classes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, Japanese, Chinese, French, Russian, and Korean. The specialized Mathematics class will have two classes: Specialized Mathematics 1 and Specialized Mathematics 2.
This year's admissions plan has been adjusted compared to previous years, with only one specialized English class remaining. However, for the first time, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted is opening a specialized Korean language class. Each specialized class will have 35 students.
This year's exam is scheduled to be held on June 6, 2025, at Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School and Huynh Thuc Khang High School.
Candidates applying to Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School will take the specialized subject exam and base scores from the 10th grade entrance exam.
According to regulations, scores for non-specialized subjects are weighted with a coefficient of 1, while scores for specialized subjects are weighted with a coefficient of 3.
