According to the design, Suoi Hoc Bridge is a class I bridge with a lifespan of over 100 years, with a total design length of 487m and a width of 7.5m. The main bridge consists of 3 continuous spans made of prestressed reinforced concrete beams. The approach bridge consists of 5 Super T spans. The abutments and piers all use bored pile foundations - a complex structure that requires high technology. The construction process is facing many difficulties.

According to the report from the Traffic Project Management Board (Nghe An Department of Construction), the implementation value by the end of May 2025 only reached 17.35% (31.7/182.6 billion VND). Of which, piers M1, M2 and pier T1 have been completed; other piers such as T2, T4, T5, T6, T7 are gradually completing the bored pile part. The Super T girder casting part has only completed 6/15 slabs.
Explaining the reason for the delay, the representative of the Project Management Board said: Site clearance was delayed because the project passes through protected forest land and natural forest, and the entire site will not be handed over until December 2024. The construction terrain is difficult, and transportation is mainly by waterway, causing many obstacles in bringing machinery and materials to the construction site.

In particular, the construction conditions under the Ban Ve hydropower reservoir are the biggest challenge. “The water level at the bottom of the lake is high, so construction can only be carried out during the 4-month dry season from April to July every year. From May 24 to 26, heavy rains over a large area caused the water level at Ban Ve Lake to rise by 1 meter, affecting the current bridge construction process,” added a representative of the Project Management Board.

Faced with that situation, during the construction progress inspection on May 21, Mr. Hoang Phu Hien - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee directly directed relevant parties to focus resources, remove difficulties, and speed up construction progress.
“Suoi Hoc Bridge is a key project, of special significance to people in remote areas of Nhon Mai and Mai Son communes. Units need to mobilize maximum human resources and equipment, taking advantage of the dry season to complete important items. The goal is to complete the project in the fourth quarter of 2025,” the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
