3 hydropower plants in Que Phong operated to discharge reservoir water in the early morning of June 5.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has just issued 3 consecutive Notices No. 59/TB-PCTT, 60/TB-PCTT and 61/TB-PCTT on the operation of water discharge from 3 hydropower reservoirs Chau Thon, Ban Coc and Song Quang, Que Phong district in the early morning of June 5, 2025.
Accordingly, hydropowerChau Thon(Chau Thon commune) will start regulating discharge from0:00 June 5, 2025, with traffic from30 m³/s to 80 m³/sthrough the sluice gate. The discharge will continue until the end of the current flood season.
Next, hydroelectricityBan Coc(Chau Kim commune) will discharge from0:30 June 5, 2025, withtotal flow from 11.16 m³/s to 200 m³/s, including discharge through gates, spillways and through generating units. The objective is to maintain the lake level at no more than the normal water level at 376m.
HydroelectricQuang River(also in Chau Thon commune) will operate to discharge into1:00 a.m. June 5, 2025, with expected traffic ranging from30 m³/s to 120 m³/s, through all three forms of discharge: gate, spillway and generator set.
This activity is part of the operating process approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province to ensure safety for the project as well as the downstream area.
