According to TASS news agency on June 6, The Atlantic magazine said that US President Donald Trump was not satisfied with Ukraine's decision to attack Russian military airports in Ukraine. Therefore, the White House is discussing the possibility of ending support for Kiev.

According to The Atlantic's sources from Washington administration staff, the US leader "expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the attacks could lead to an escalation of the conflict." According to the publication, "the drone strike once again awakened long-standing dissatisfaction in President Volodymyr Zelensky and caused new debates in the White House about whether the US should leave Ukraine."

Also according to The Atlantic, President Trump called Mr. Zelensky a "bad guy" and "hothead," and also believed that he provoked the outbreak of World War III. According to one of the sources, the White House boss believes that Zelensky should focus entirely on the negotiations with Russia in Istanbul.

According to the publication, President Trump has not yet decided on "next steps" regarding the situation around Ukraine. Aides have presented Mr. Trump with several options, including tightening sanctions against Russia and "reducing US aid to Ukraine."

The Atlantic reported that earlier this week, the US leader told his aides that he did not believe in the possibility of holding a three-way meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Zelensky in the near future.

Earlier, on June 4, President Donald Trump had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the call, Mr. Trump called on Russia not to respond to attacks from Ukraine. However, Mr. Putin emphasized that in the coming days, Russia will launch a strong response.

The Russian Defense Ministry said Ukraine carried out a terrorist attack on June 1 using drones against airports in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions. The attacks in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions were repelled. Several planes caught fire as a result of the terrorist attacks, but all were extinguished. The Russian Defense Ministry added that there were no casualties among military or civilian personnel, and that some of those involved in the terrorist attacks were detained.
