According to RIA Novosti on June 9, Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Artem Dmitruk wrote on his Telegram channel that Ukrainians should demand Volodymyr Zelensky's resignation because he refused to accept the bodies of Ukrainian soldiers.

“All relatives of the missing should go to Zelensky’s office and demand his resignation! Russia is ready to return all prisoners – both dead and alive!”, Mr. Dmitruk wrote.

According to the politician, the responsibility for this decision lies entirely with the head of the Kiev government, who decided to sabotage the goodwill gesture from Moscow. On June 6, Russia began the transfer of more than 6,000 dead soldiers to Ukraine and the exchange of wounded and seriously ill prisoners of war under the Istanbul agreements. The Ukrainian side did not appear at the supposed exchange location, although the date of the exchange was announced in advance.

The representative of the Russian exchange group, Lieutenant General Alexander Zorin, said that Ukraine did not contact, so the transfer of the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the exchange of prisoners did not take place.

On June 8, Lieutenant General Zorin said that Moscow was waiting for official confirmation from Kiev that the transfer of bodies would take place. According to him, there are signals that the transfer of the dead soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is supposed to be postponed until next week, Russia is waiting for notification through a special channel.

Instead of focusing on implementing the Istanbul agreement, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky complained that Ukraine hoped to receive 20,000 missiles for air defense systems from the United States, but the US administration decided to redirect them to US forces in the Middle East.

"We were counting on these 20,000 missiles. This morning, my defense minister told me that the United States has transferred them to the Middle East," the Ukrainian head complained in an interview with the American television channel ABC News on June 8.
