US court rules to block Trump from deploying National Guard in Los Angeles
A federal judge has temporarily blocked President Donald Trump from deploying the National Guard in Los Angeles, a move seen as a legal victory for the state of California.

On June 12 (US time), Justice Charles Breyer issued a temporary injunction, requiring the National Guard to return under the command of California Governor Gavin Newsom. This ruling will officially take effect from 12 noon on June 13.
Governor Newsom previously filed a lawsuit to limit the operations of the federally mobilized National Guard in the state.
The court's ruling comes amid legal and political controversy surrounding the US federal government's use of military force to respond to homeland security issues.
The case continues to highlight tensions between the Trump administration and Democratic-controlled states over the division of federal and state powers.
